I've always loved to move, dance and stretch so it was no big leap for me to jump right in when I discovered yoga. My love for yoga, in particular, was awakened when I picked up some books on the subject. I tried some movements and it just worked for me. Shortly thereafter I visited a yoga studio in the area when I was living in Florida and began taking classes. I was hooked from class one and that was over ten years ago. I spent a few years moving around the country with my family and everywhere I went I tried yoga classes. The teachers and the environments changed, but I always enjoyed the peace of mind and body connection that I felt during class. During this time I would teach the yoga that I was learning to friends, family and my two boys......when I could capture their attention! When I finally landed in New Hampshire in 2001 I was determined to open a yoga studio space where I could create an atmosphere for transformation and connection for others. I went to the Kripalu Center in Massachusetts and received my certification in 2002. From 2001-2004 I was teaching yoga in the local gyms, schools, chiropractic offices, spas and various other places. I was very ready to open my own space! YogaBalance opened it's doors in September of 2004 with the mission of 'serving you through yoga'. We have since outgrown this and our previous location to end up where we are now. It's been a wonderful journey and I look forward to providing an ever expanding variety of yoga programs to acommodate anyone who may be interested in taking classes. We now have several yoga teachers and hundreds of yoga students who support our yoga community. As we grow we are able to give back to our community.
