YogaBalance is a welcoming community and we want you to feel comfortable.  In order to make your experience and that of the other participants more enjoyable please adhere to the following:


  • Arrive on time.  Classes begin on time and the entry door is locked before each class starts.  Give yourself plenty of time to park your car and get settled on your mat before class begins. 
  • If this is your first class at YogaBalance please arrive 10-15 minutes early in order to fill out your forms.
  • Please remove your shoes inside the front door before going upstairs into the yoga room.
  • Practice on a yoga mat.  You may bring one or you may borrow one.
  • Turn off your cell phone upon arrival.
  • Plan to stay for the entire class.  Final relaxation is a very important part of your yoga practice and leaving early is disruptive to other students.
  • Some classes get very full. If you are attending a very full class please be willing to adjust your mat to acomodate incoming students.
  • Please let your yoga instructor know of any body issues, injuries or concerns you may have about the practice before class begins so he/she can modify postures and help improve your experience.
  • Our instructors rely heavily on verbal cues and modeling when teaching a class.  We do however, integrate physical assists as well. Physical assists have the ability to draw you deeper into a pose or stretch.  If you do not want to be touched or assisted in a class please let your instructor know before class each time.  We understand that sometimes  a physical assist feels appropriate and other times you may choose not to have them.
