This class is taught by:

Jean-Marie Belzile

Jean-Marie has been teaching various styles of yoga since 2006.  She attended her first yoga class in 1995 when she was a group fitness instructor, and she immediately incorporated yoga postures into her classes to promote flexibility.  She subsequently received her 200-hour YTT certification in Anahata Integral yoga, and her 500-hour certification in Shakti yoga.  As a perpetual student, Jean-Marie has an ongoing self-study practice, which consists of daily meditation and being present in each moment.  She invites you to experience her diverse teachings in each of her YogaBalance classes.

Rachel Taylor

Known by students for her warm and grounded presence, Rachel has been studying yoga since 2007 and teaching since 2013. Her most influential teachers being trained in Iyengar yoga, she has a keen eye for appropriate alignment. In addition to teaching yoga, Rachel is a trained birth doula, certified prenatal yoga teacher and NH licensed massage therapist. Whether you're in your third trimester or taking your third yoga class ever, Rachel looks forward to guiding you through a purposeful and peaceful practice.

When Jenn walked into her first yoga class, she immediately fell in love with the practice. In addition to maintaining a full-time corporate career, she realized her dream of becoming a yoga teacher, and she also owned a successful yoga studio for several years prior to joining the YogaBalance team. Jenn’s classes mix various styles of yoga, so each class is different, fun, interesting and challenging. She invites you to experience the benefits of yoga at YogaBalance.

Irene Lemire

Irene started at YogaBalance in 2010 as a Studio Assistant (one of our best, ever!), and graduated with her 200-hour YogaWorks Certification in 2014. She is also trained in Prenatal Yoga instruction. She started practicing yoga before college as a method to relieve stress and to gain greater flexibility and strength, and she also strives to achieve greater spiritual knowledge. With a particular interest in teaching yoga to military personnel, Irene seeks to help all her students to maintain a lifelong yoga practice.

Beth Berkeley

For Beth, Yoga is an essential practice for life and for a lifetime—a core resource for cultivating a strong, flexible body, a focused mind and a connection to something greater than the self. Since stumbling upon her first yoga class 20 years ago as an athlete looking for more flexibility, Beth has trained in the Ashtanga Yoga tradition with Beryl Bender Birch, David Swenson, Richard Freeman and David Williams. She has taught at numerous studios, co-led international yoga retreats and developed functional anatomy trainings for yoga teachers in training. Beth is a 2001 graduate of the Healing Touch Institute and a 2004 graduate of the Rolf Institute of Structural Integration and maintains a full-time private Rolfing® and massage therapy practice.

Gen MacKenzie

Gen Mackenzie is ERYT200 and RYT500 (Rolf Gates, Jacqui Bonwell and David Vendetti). She likes to teach a well-balanced class- delivering strength and flexibility for both body and mind. She is known for her fun choreography and eclectic music selection. “Yoga is a lifelong journey and my own experience has taught me that the challenges we are presented have the potential to lead us to amazing growth. I use my own practice to quiet down enough to see the new path presented to me.” Gen is dedicated to bringing yoga to those in recovery. She recently completed the Y12SR Teacher Training, a program that integrates yoga and The 12 Steps. When she isn't at the studio, she can be found outside on a walk, or leading yoga classes with her friends in the recovery community.

Maryjean Kimball

Maryjean came to yoga through her years in fitness and ballet training. Her personal yoga practice became her passion. She loved the external physical gains that her body made in flexibility and strength. She soon realized the true “power” of yoga lies in its ability to cultivate internal balance and clarity of mind and went on to complete her 200hr Yoga teacher training at the Kripalu Center. As an external and creative student, Maryjean continues to study all forms of yoga, allowing her practice to change and evolve and guides her classes with precision, enthusiasm, and safe alignment allowing her students to reach their goals for both body and mind.
In this well-rounded class, we will stretch and strengthen our bodies, open our hearts and calm our minds. We will practice longer-held postures with a focus on alignment to refine and deepen our practice. We will practice flow sequences to help us connect with our breath and our subtle energy. Guided by the wisdom of yoga philosophy, we will learn to relate more deeply and authentically with ourselves and the world around us. Appropriate for all - modifications will be offered for beginners.
