She is a Reiki Master and Teacher since 2001, certified in Shamballa Multi-Dimensional Healing Method, Integrated Energy Therapy (IET) and has completed her Andean Medicine Wheel training as taught by The Four Winds Society. Sandi believes everyone can practice yoga – both on and off the mat. Along with teaching a gentle and moderate Hatha class, she teaches Yin Yoga, Chair yoga and Yoga for COPD. Sandi brings a healing quality to her class with self-acceptance at the core and is grateful and honored to share her yoga and wisdom.

Michele Stelling

Michele has been teaching yoga full-time since 2006 and has over fifteen years' experience in physical therapy, so she clearly and safely guides her students through their yoga practice. She enjoys teaching yoga to beginners and experts, alike, and she also teaches Adapted Yoga for people with disabilities, Restorative Yoga for deep relaxation and chair yoga for seniors.  Michele believes helping people to breath more easily and feel better in their bodies is the greatest gift of being a yoga instructor. She invites you to join her in any of her amazing classes at YogaBalance.

Irene Lemire

Irene started at YogaBalance in 2010 as a Studio Assistant (one of our best, ever!), and graduated with her 200-hour YogaWorks Certification in 2014. She is also trained in Prenatal Yoga instruction. She started practicing yoga before college as a method to relieve stress and to gain greater flexibility and strength, and she also strives to achieve greater spiritual knowledge. With a particular interest in teaching yoga to military personnel, Irene seeks to help all her students to maintain a lifelong yoga practice.

Beth Berkeley

For Beth, Yoga is an essential practice for life and for a lifetime—a core resource for cultivating a strong, flexible body, a focused mind and a connection to something greater than the self. Since stumbling upon her first yoga class 20 years ago as an athlete looking for more flexibility, Beth has trained in the Ashtanga Yoga tradition with Beryl Bender Birch, David Swenson, Richard Freeman and David Williams. She has taught at numerous studios, co-led international yoga retreats and developed functional anatomy trainings for yoga teachers in training. Beth is a 2001 graduate of the Healing Touch Institute and a 2004 graduate of the Rolf Institute of Structural Integration and maintains a full-time private Rolfing® and massage therapy practice.

Gen MacKenzie

Gen Mackenzie is ERYT200 and RYT500 (Rolf Gates, Jacqui Bonwell and David Vendetti). She likes to teach a well-balanced class- delivering strength and flexibility for both body and mind. She is known for her fun choreography and eclectic music selection. “Yoga is a lifelong journey and my own experience has taught me that the challenges we are presented have the potential to lead us to amazing growth. I use my own practice to quiet down enough to see the new path presented to me.” Gen is dedicated to bringing yoga to those in recovery. She recently completed the Y12SR Teacher Training, a program that integrates yoga and The 12 Steps. When she isn't at the studio, she can be found outside on a walk, or leading yoga classes with her friends in the recovery community.

Melissa B. Borthwick

Melissa received a 200-hour certification from YogaWorks.  She began practicing yoga in Tennessee in the late 90s. Initially drawn to the athleticism of yoga, Melissa's practice was strictly a physical one until the birth of her daughter in 2010. The new physical limitations she then experienced sparked the beginning of an interest in the deeper aspects of yoga, and now she loves both the physical challenge on the mat and the peace that extends beyond it. Melissa is excited to have you join her for a fun practice that will leave you smiling and with a full heart.

Perfect for beginners or experienced students who want a slower paced, less strenuous class. In this class, we focus on stretching postures, gentle flows and breathing techniques that release stress, reduce tension and promote relaxation through a calm, meditative approach to the practice. A wonderful class for students of all ages and for anyone that wants to slow down, learn to quiet their mind and be nurtured.
