Amy received a 200-hour certification from YogaWorks. She has been a student of yoga since the birth of her first child in 2000. Yoga has always been a much needed physical outlet for Amy, as well as an opportunity for spiritual growth. While exploring the many styles of yoga, she always envisioned herself eventually sharing the gift of yoga through teaching. Amy enjoys sharing the healing power of yoga with her students.
Ann is a graduate of two 200-hour yoga teacher trainings, including YogaWorks. She views yoga as a blessing that brought balance to her life while caring for her ailing mother and working as a lawyer. In addition to her 200-hour trainings, Ann has participated in numerous Kripalu workshops, and studied at the Himalayan Institute’s ashram in Allahabad, India, which have brought a new depth to her practice and taught her that yoga provides fulfillment both on and off the mat.
Ann and her husband, Ron — also a lawyer —, are the owners of YogaBalance. They speak about the business of yoga several times per year at yoga conferences around the country.
Aspen began her yoga teaching journey with a YogaFit certification in 2012, having been hooked on the vast benefits of yoga since her very first class in the basement of her synagogue in 2004. Since then, she has been teaching various styles of yoga regularly and has received her 500-HR yoga teacher certification at AYM (Association for Yoga and Meditation) Yoga School in Rishikesh, India. Aspen’s approach to wellness comes from her passion for helping others energetically, physically and emotionally. She is also a certified personal trainer, multi-format group fitness instructor, MAT trainer and Reiki practitioner. She looks forward to helping you calm the mind as well as condition the body with all the amazing benefits of yoga.
Brittany received her 200hr Yoga Teacher Training certification through a local Yoga Alliance course in Fair Haven, NJ. She has been practicing yoga for about 10 years, and teaching for 3. She focuses on strength-building, vinyasa flow classes that build heat and encourage flexibility during her classes. She is currently in nursing school, and if she is not teaching or practicing yoga you can find her doing some other type of physical activity or catching up on some much needed sleep!
Caryn has been working as a studio assistant at YogaBalance since 2015, and received her 200-hour YogaWorks Certification in 2018. Caryn has been practicing yoga for over 10 years, concentrating on Align and Vinyasa Flow styles. She began practicing yoga as a way to develop mindfulness and fell in love with the practice. When she isn’t practicing or teaching yoga she teaches art full-time to kindergarteners!
Debra Zarnay E-RYT 500, YACEP, has been teaching yoga since 1994, studying BKS Iyengar Yoga and Ashtanga Yoga. Debbie spent 36 years in the dance industry before becoming an Aerobics Instructor and Personal Trainer in 1995. Having a ballet background, a love for yoga, and being a Personal Trainer, Deb developed Zarnay Yoga to further enhance her students’ flexibility and balance. After owning two Yoga Studios in New England, she continues to teach, certifies teachers (one on one), and offers Workshops where ever she goes! Debbie completed the Y12SR Certification, (Yoga for 12 Step Recovery), in November 2013.
Dee was introduced to and fell in love with Yoga in college. Over the years, she always came back to the practice of Yoga to reconnect with body, mind, and spirit in both good and challenging times. She earned her YogaWorks 200 hour certification in 2015 here at YogaBalance. She has been teaching Yoga for Dartmouth-Hitchcock, Manchester for more than a year as part of an employee wellness program. Dee also teaches a weekly class for the Granite YMCA. She is excited and grateful to bring her lifelong love of Yoga to students at YogaBalance.
Elise started practicing yoga in 2015 when a class was offered at her work. She developed a passion for the physical practice of Yoga but also enjoyed the spiritual elements of the classes and the way Yoga helped her to relieve stress. Elise received her YogaWorks RYT-200hr certification in 2017 and started teaching shortly thereafter. With her first baby, she attended Prenatal Yoga classes which helped her stay in shape throughout her pregnancy as well as after giving birth. She received her 20hr Prenatal Certification through Om Births in 2018 and feels particularly called to share the benefits of Yoga with Moms-to-be. With her bright and bubbly nature and aptitude for building a fun and welcoming community (not to mention her “Mom-hacks”!), Elise is thrilled to be leading the Prenatal Yoga classes here at YogaBalance.
Emily first came to yoga in 2010 looking to improve flexibility and strength, but soon found that yoga provided her with much more than physical benefits. Practicing yoga allowed her to feel more centered and focused throughout the day. Emily received her Classical Yoga RYT-200hr certification in September 2017 from YogaLife. She is also a dance teacher at Unbound Dance Academy, teaching various disciplines to children ranging from 2 to 12 years old. She has recently completed the Kids Yoga Teacher Training program through ChildLight Yoga and is in the final stages of her certification process. She believes that a strong connection between the mind and body is fundamental to self-discovery and personal growth. Yoga has helped her own personal growth tremendously and so she is excited to share the many benefits of a yoga practice through her teaching.
Emma began practicing yoga in 2009. Her interest was initially focused on the physical asana but has evolved into practicing in such a way that honors body, mind, and spirit. Emma received her YogaFit certification in 2013 and since then has taught Yoga at the YMCA and other local studios. She started at YogaBalance as a Studio Assistant in 2014 and finished her YogaWorks RYT-200hr through YogaBalance in 2016. She is also trained in Prenatal and Senior Yoga instruction. Emma hopes that the strength, empowerment, and connection she relays in her teaching style can be taken off the mat and into students' daily lives.
Gen Mackenzie is ERYT200 and RYT500 (Rolf Gates, Jacqui Bonwell and David Vendetti). She likes to teach a well-balanced class- delivering strength and flexibility for both body and mind. She is known for her fun choreography and eclectic music selection. “Yoga is a lifelong journey and my own experience has taught me that the challenges we are presented have the potential to lead us to amazing growth. I use my own practice to quiet down enough to see the new path presented to me.” Gen is dedicated to bringing yoga to those in recovery. She recently completed the Y12SR Teacher Training, a program that integrates yoga and The 12 Steps. When she isn't at the studio, she can be found outside on a walk, or leading yoga classes with her friends in the recovery community.
Heather Tamposi, RYT-200, has been a student of yoga for over 10 years, drawing on various types of yoga such as Vinyasa, Hatha and Yogilates. After a decade of teaching Pilates, combined with her passion for yoga, she decided to enroll in the YogaWorks Yoga Teacher Training at YogaBalance and received her certification in the summer of 2018. Time and again, her yoga practice has offered Heather direction, and she hopes to bring the same physical and mental benefits she gets from yoga to her students. Heather believes in a strong foundation of breath and proper alignment which she believes leads to the idea that when we can align physically we can then better align mentally, emotionally and energetically. When she’s not on her yoga mat, Heather can often be found enjoying her stand-up paddleboard, tandem bicycle, and love of live music with her family and friends.
Irene started at YogaBalance in 2010 as a Studio Assistant (one of our best, ever!), and graduated with her 200-hour YogaWorks Certification in 2014. She is also trained in Prenatal Yoga instruction. She started practicing yoga before college as a method to relieve stress and to gain greater flexibility and strength, and she also strives to achieve greater spiritual knowledge. With a particular interest in teaching yoga to military personnel, Irene seeks to help all her students to maintain a lifelong yoga practice.

Jean-Marie has been teaching various styles of yoga since 2006.  She attended her first yoga class in 1995 when she was a group fitness instructor, and she immediately incorporated yoga postures into her classes to promote flexibility.  She subsequently received her 200-hour YTT certification in Anahata Integral yoga, and her 500-hour certification in Shakti yoga.  As a perpetual student, Jean-Marie has an ongoing self-study practice, which consists of daily meditation and being present in each moment.  She invites you to experience her diverse teachings in each of her YogaBalance classes.

Jenn received both a 500-hour certification and a 200-hour certification in Shakti Flow from At Om Yoga, another 200-hour certification from YogaWorks, a 200-hour certification from O2 Yoga, and yet another 200-hour certification in the Yoga of Energy Flow. When Jenn walked into her first yoga class, she immediately fell in love with the practice. In addition to maintaining a full-time corporate career, she realized her dream of becoming a yoga teacher, and she also owned a successful yoga studio for several years prior to joining the YogaBalance team. Jenn’s classes mix various styles of yoga, so each class is different, fun, interesting and challenging. She invites you to experience the benefits of yoga at YogaBalance.
